Without further wait, Sally and Amy rushed for Rouge in the hopes of getting Sonic back. However, Rouge simply flew from their reach but was still being pursued.

Sally: You're not getting away from us!
Amy: Give back Sonic!!! *has hammer at the ready*
Rouge: Make me.
Sonic: Abababa. *tries calling out to Amy and Sally*
Amy: Don't worry Sonic! We'll save you!
Shadow: I don't think so. *uses chaos warp to appear in front of Sally and Amy*
E-123 Omega: We can't let you two ruin our mission! *flies and lands in front of the girls, blocking their path along with Shadow*
Rouge: Much obliged for the assist boys. *getting further away from the area*
Sally: Stand aside!!!
Amy: You heard her!!! MOVE IT OR LOSE IT!!!
Shadow: Make us.
Blaze: With pleasure. *throws fireballs at Shadow*
Shadow: Grrrrgh. *warps out of the way*
Tails: *flies by and kicks E-123 Omega in the head* Up here tin can!
T-Pup: Bark bark!!

Blaze, Tails, and T-Pup came to the aid of Sally and Amy. The three plan to help by keeping Shadow and Omega distracted.

Blaze: You two go on without us!
Tails: We got these guys, go and get Sonic back!
T-Pup: Bark!
Sally: Thanks everyone. Come on Amy! *rushes to Sonic's aid*
Amy: Don't need to tell me twice! You guys be careful and come back to us in one piece! *charges ahead of Sally and leads the rescue*

Sally and Amy take off to pursue Rouge. Blaze, Tails, and T-Pup stay behind in order to keep the other members of Team Dark occupied.

Shadow: Don't interfere Blaze! *throws a chaos spear at Blaze*
Blaze: Like it or not, you're not one to make my decisions! *shoots fire at Shadow while dodging his attack*
Shadow: This doesn't concern you. Why become involved!? *continues attacking while avoiding the fire coming toward him*
Blaze: It DOES concern me! The energy responsible for Sonic's condition originated from the Sol Emerald. I intend on helping the others turn him back to normal!
Shadow: Hmph, tough luck for you then. We were tasked to bring in a sample of that said energy, and Sonic is the primary source.
Blaze: Fine then, I won't go easy this time around! *goes back to attacking Shadow*
Shadow: So be it. *counterattacks with more chaos spears while dodging the barrage of fire attacks*

Not too far, Tails and T-Pup are busy with Omega. The two are on the defensive while avoided the attacks.

E-123 Omega: Hold still you annoying fox! *shoots at Tails*
Tails: *dodges the bullets* You gotta do better than that!
T-Pup: Bark!
E-123 Omega: Eat lead you metal mutt! *fires at T-Pup*
T-Pup: *avoids the attack* Bark Bark!
Tails: (There's got to be a way to get close without being filled with holes) *ponders during the battle*

Elsewhere, Sally and Amy are catching up to Rouge and Sonic. The two began jumping and running on close-by tree branches in order to get to higher ground.

Amy: I've got you Rouge!!! *readies her hammer*
Rouge: Guess again! *kicks a tree branch at Amy*
Amy: AAAHHH!!! *hit by the branch, but is still running towards Rouge*
Sally: Amy!
Rouge: Here's one for you Princess! *kicks a tree branch at Sally while flying away*
Sally: GAAHH!!! *gets hit by a branch also, but manages to keep running momentum*
Rouge: You girls just don't know when to quit do you? *hears something strange* (What's that noise?)
Sally: *feels the tree shake* An earthquake? Here?
Amy: What's going on!? *holds onto the tree as the ground continues to shake*

Just then, the ground nearby begins to open, but not as a quake. The opening of the ground is seen to be as if part of the ground was sliding away. Suddenly, a giant mechanical door appeared in place of the opening with loud sirens going off. The metal latches of the door began to open slowly. Sally, Amy, and Rouge knew all too well who's likely behind this sudden intrusion.
